Processed at the Worka Washing Station, this coffee is quality-checked on site, then the parchment is finished for export at a modern dry mill in Addis Ababa.
It comes from Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone in the SNNPR, home of the Gedeo people. Coffees here have long been sold as “Sidama” and “Yirgacheffe,” with Yirgacheffe the best-known woreda and one of Ethiopia’s three trademarked origins. Cool, steady 15–18°C temperatures, heavy rainfall, and small household coffee gardens create ideal growing conditions. Plants are intercropped with food crops, grown with little to no fertilisers or pesticides, rooted in iron-rich acidic soils, and shaded by native trees like Cordia africana, Acacia, and Ensete.
