Ask A Question

Coffee

Which coffee should I choose?

It depends on your preference and flavours you enjoy.

A great place to start is with our Flavour Pack! Featuring three distinct coffee styles: rich and intense Little Italy, sweet and caramel like Seasonal, and bright, fruity Best of Africa. Follow the link to the product: Here

Why does grind size matter?

Grind size influences flavour and is determined by the brew method.

For Example: Espresso machines use a fine grind because coffee is brewed quickly under pressure.

A plunger uses a coarse grind because the coffee steeps in water for longer.

How should I store my coffee beans?

Keep your beans in an airtight container, away from light, heat and moisture.

Best practice is a purpose-built container, like an Airscape, as it removes the air. However, any sealed container will help keep them fresh, because it will limit the air.

How long does coffee last?

We recommend using your beans within 4–6 weeks of the roast date. After this, they will lose freshness and start to become stale.

Plan to store them longer? Freezing is the go, in small portions. Remember to let each portion come to room temperature before grinding it, as this will affect the extraction and grinder.

Do you add flavouring to your coffees? The bag says “peanut” and “chocolate”.

No, we don’t!

Tasting notes like peanut and chocolate describe the coffee’s natural flavours.

These develop through factors such as the coffee variety, growing conditions and processing method.

How is our decaf decaffeinated?

Our decaf uses the chemical-free Swiss Water Process. Water and filtration are used to gently remove 99.9% of the caffeine while preserving the coffee’s flavour.

Is your coffee organic?

We currently offer two certified organic coffees: our Mexican single-origin and Mexican decaf. Many of the farms we work with use organic practices but are not certified, as the certification is costly and strict.
